Snow Day

MLK day was a snow day for us. We didn't get enough to really have a good slide down our front yard but we tried. I couldn't get to our snow boards so a Christmas gift bag was the best I could find. Graham still had fun but you won't see any photos of that because I was doing my best to keep the camera from sliding around my neck and knocking him out.

It was so good to get a little fresh air for a change. The weather has been miserable in Nashville the winter. It hasn't gotten out of the 20's in a long time. I had Graham so bundled up he could barely move.

His face got a little chapped but that doesn't seem to bother him. We decided it was worth it to finally get outside.

I finally finished out window seat and now look who's on it with markers! Thankfully they are "wonder markers" and only mark on his coloring book, but I'm sure they will stain it just the same.

I'm Giving Up!

That's right, I'm giving up. There is no point in trying to keep Graham out of things or keep a straight house with all that is going on around us. One night after dinner Michael and I were looking at a new light fixture and Graham discovered how much fun the packaging could be. He climbed up on the table, grabbed a pen and started punching holes. Little white pellets made their way all over my dining room, hallway, den and I even found some upstairs in Graham's room. If you've ever dealt with peanuts or other foam packaging, you know how impossible it is to clean up. So we just let him go and have fun for a good 30 minutes or so and just figured we'll vacuum all the dots up at some point.

Monkey Joe's

Larissa and I took Graham and Lily to Monkey Joe's this morning. We quickly decided it was worth the drive to Gallatin. The place was huge and it only cost $5. We also decided that this was a great place to come with the Daddy's. I am so out of shape and the little ones need help getting up all of the slippery steps. It didn't take long for me to wear down but a big sweet tea from chick-fil-a brought me back.

They had so much fun on the slides. Which, of course, was no surprise for me. They weigh so little that they looked like little rag dolls coming down and bumping into the sides. Larissa and I got the biggest kick out of watching them and they were laughing at us because we were so tickled.

They usually ended up in a clump at the bottom when they went down together. Before Graham could even stand back up he was holding out his hands to go again.

What a fun morning. We will definitely be going back. They open at 10:00 and that is probably the best time to get there because when we were leaving around 11:15 it was getting full and full with older kids.

The Stockyards

We had the perfect weekend in Dallas. My family was in town for the Cotton Bowl while we were in town for operation "Bling Bling". On Saturday we drove over to Ft Worth to check out the stockyards. Graham was soooooooooo tired. He probably lost at least 12 hours of his normal sleep throughout the weekend. He powered through it with only a few melt-downs but I felt awful for withholding sleep from our baby.

We enjoyed 82 degree weather while we were there. It was a nice break to have warm weather in January.

The cattle run was short but fun. We watched, from the curb, as the longhorns walked down the streets of the stockyards.

This poor cow broke my heart. He had clips in his nose instead of a bridle in his mouth. He looked like he was miserable and I just couldn't bear it so I took the picture and walked away.

Operation Bling Bling

We flew to Dallas to be a part of the big surprise. Our good friend Chris was going to propose and we had to be there to celebrate with them.

Chris was getting little nervous with 30 minutes to go before he popped the big questions.
Congratulations!!! Ashley said YES!

No siding on our house, dust on every inch inside and mud on every inch outside. hopefully we only have a few more weeks of this mess. Graham has been a trooper through it all. He's taken some of the best naps of his life with a jackhammer going, people sawing and hammering in the room next to him.

The weather was overcast all weekend but we didn't let that stop us from getting out a little.

Kirkland and Graham had fun tearing down someone else's sand castle.

Poor wet Graham. We went to get a closer look of the water and look what happened. What looked like the surf rolling in and out turned out to be waves crashing one came so fast that it knocked Graham down before I could grab him. He was pretty much ready to go after that.

"It's Santa time!"

YEAH!!! Graham threw his hands up and was so excited about his new blocks. Thank you Kirkland and Harrison!

Graham had his first powdered doughnut and loved it.....apple doesn't fall far from the tree :)
