1st Day of School

Graham was so happy on his first day of school. He started Mother's Day Out at Calvary Methodist Church (the church where Michael and I were married) with his friend Lily and 5 other new friends.
He had so much fun on his first day. A new friend brought over the biggest John Deere tractor Graham had ever seen and boy did he go to it. He never even looked back at me. His teachers Ms. Lynn and Ms. Miranda are so sweet on him. I think he is going to have so much fun this summer. I couldn't get better pictures because he was too interested in getting to know his new friends and new toys.

Sippy Cup

We have finally conquered the "milk in sippy cup" saga. Graham shocked us b y turning up the cup and actually taking a few sips. It has only taken us 5 weeks of work to get to this point. Good job Graham!!!
"Not quite sure why Mommy and Daddy are clapping and acting so crazy about me just drinking milk."

Playing with GiGi

GiGi came to visit us in May and boy did we put her to work. Not only did she babysit, she painted, she weeded, she moved rocks, wash my car, laundry, and so on and so forth. She may never come back.
Graham had the best time though. He never stopped laughing while GiGi was here.
We even let him drive a little. (We were in the driveway only) He loves the steering wheel.
This is one of our newest bad habits. Standing in the tub. Isn't that belly cute though?

These were pictures taken while we were visiting in Hattiesburg. We had a fun lunch date out on the patio.
We stopped by Uncle Kevin's work and visited for a little bit.
Am I ready for Jimmy Buffet or what? Uncle Kevin bought me my first Hawaiian shirt. He and Mommy LOVE the beach so I better like it too!

Like Mother, Like Son

OUR CHILD ATE CHICKEN!!!!!
Today has been revolutionary as Graham was convinced to put the chicken in his mouth. I've been easing up to the moment by giving him sweet potato fries when I'm eating them. But today, I dared to put the chicken finger in front of him. I've learned that he likes 'stick' kind of food. I hate to say that he may be like his mother--a picky eater. But I'm not the only one in our family-his Paw Paw, his Aunt Nancy, his cousin Jeff and yes his great-granddaddy Graham are all picky eaters. At this point I'm just glad he will eat some type of protein.
Graham is getting a little better about the sippy cup but we are still feeding him his "bottle" with a spoon and cereal. The child refuses milk any other way.

Here's the proof. A few left over pieces he gnawed off.

So here are out latest greatest finds. Sweet potato fries, chicken fingers and Yo Plait yogurt drinks. Graham will actually "drink" from these little cartons. I've had to get creative with teaching him to drink milk and water. At least I know he's getting the calcium he needs. What a wonderful day, Graham is drinking calcium and eating protein. WOOHOO!!

Playdate with Michael

" Wow Michael, you sure do have a lot more hair than me."
Graham had so much fun playing with all of Michael's fun toys. They were so funny to watch because they would crawl back and forth across the kitchen floor. Cute little boys.

10 Months Old

Taking our monthly update pictures is getting a little too hard. We may only have a couple left in us.
WOW-time is flying by like we knew it would. It seems Graham is more and more of a little boy and less of a baby every day.
He can now climb the entire set of stairs which has added a little more stress since we still don't have a baby gate that fits the stairs.
He finally said Mama this week which was so sweet.
He waves bye-bye to me at home but is too bashful around others.
The bottle thing is over and I've just surmised that my baby will never drink from a bottle again. He's now getting his milk mixed in with just enough cereal to make it stay on a spoon so I can feed him. We try this 4 times a day-very time consuming I must say, but he needs his milk. We also have at least two 4 oz cartons of yogurt so I'm not worrying about his lack of liquids anymore. He just isn't going to be much of a drinker.
Today was our first grilled cheese sandwich and much to my surprise he ate it. Finally-a food he'll eat. That brings us up to grilled cheese sandwiches, crackers and goldfish now. Not much table food but he's throwing down the baby food still. Oh and I forgot to mention that he won't eat cheerios anymore-goldfish must be better.
You can also see from the video below that he LOVES the Shark. It's much easier to get this out for little crumbs throughout the day. He's still a little scared of the vacuum too so this is a way I can get a little help around the house. I'm starting him out early with the chores.
