Week 1

We've survived our first week and topped it off with a healthy visit to the doctor. Today was our first day on our own as all family returned home yesterday. We've discovered Mary Virginia's cranky time to be 10-midnight. Not the most ideal time for that. We're hoping that goes away soon. Overall, she is a quiet baby-just like Graham was at this age. She does get a little mad when she's hungry and I'm not fast enough but we solve that problem as quickly as we can.

This is Graham's Week 1 picture. It's hard to tell if they look similar due to Graham's squirmy movements. We've already noticed how dainty little girls are. I think the first week pictures show us a difference in our busy little boy and our calm little girl.

Mary Virginia was able to wear my "Coming Home" outfit. She wasn't too happy with me for unwrapping her from her cozy swaddle.

Graham was finally getting interested in this new little person. Trying to learn how to "pat pat" and not hit. Mary Virginia is not sure about him either.

Her eyes seem to be the first thing he wants to poke.

Graham walked up to us with both hands out and palms up. It was so cute how he wanted to hold his sissy.

She's Here!!!

Miss Mary Virginia was born on April 14th, 2009. She weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

She definitely has long fingers and my long feet.

Graham was not too into this hospital thing. The paci stayed in and he stayed with his GiGi.

Finally, with some encouragement, he got up in the bed with me and gave me the best hug ever! He wasn't real sure about me being in that weird bed in that awful gown and having us holding someone other than him. Thankfully things got much better once we were home.

Lily was so excited to see our new baby. She and Graham checked out her little feet and hands.
That was about it and then it was time to play. You can see Graham is patiently (yet eagerly) waiting for Lily to drop the phone.

"Err it is" is Graham's favorite phrase. I'm happy now!

Easter egg hunt

Graham had fun over at Wren and Madding's house hunting for Easter eggs and other treats.

As soon as I can figure out how to download the pictures Madding took I will post them. They were much, much better than mine.

Spring pictures

After church we thought we would get some fun pictures of Graham while he was dressed and clean. Two things that aren't common around here these days.

Visit home to Mississippi

We had to completely move out of our house for two weeks while our hardwood floors were being sanded and refinished. Graham and I took the opportunity to leave town and head home to Mississippi. We left poor Michael behind living in an unfinished basement, showering at our neighbors and eating out for every meal. Thankfully our accommodations were much nicer.

Graham had the best time on "the farm". Every day GiGi took him for a ride on the lawn mower and PawPaw took him for a ride on the tractor and in the farm truck.

PawPaw taught him how to raise and lower the front end loader on the tractor. Dad would say, "okay, raise it up." and with all seriousness Graham would pull back on the lever. It was so cute!

PawPaw drilled a hole in the back of his 4-wheeler so he could tow his red car. He must have pulled this car for an hour that day. And no sir, don't offer to help him up the hill when the 4-wheeler was struggling. He didn't want any help.

GiGi found this bubble making machine that literally filled the bathroom with bubbles. We all had a good time with that.

We got to surprise PawPaw at work one day. It was Graham's first time to the Sumrall Post Office.

Then we went to Grandmother and Granddaddy's house where we found a tractor magazine. It was great entertainment looking at all of the farm supply for sale.

GiGi comes to the rescue

I talked Mom into coming back to Nashville again. Michael and I both new that with a toddler and me being 36 weeks, moving back in was not going to be easy for the two of us. We couldn't have done it without her help. Thank you MOM!!

When GiGi is around, Graham could care less what I'm doing. All attention is on GiGi. That was until Lily wanted me to read to her. There was barely enough room for both of them on my lap.

We got to dog sit Ellie for a night. Graham loves his Ellie.
