Catching up

You can see how long it has been since my last post by looking at how much little Miss Mary Virginia has grown. I'm averaging once a month these days.

We had to get some antibiotics for MV's clogged and infected tear duct.

Our little bunting baby sleeps well when she has her arms tied down so they can't wake her up when they want to flail. It's so funny how babies don't even know their arms and hands are attached to them at this age.

We attempted to get some announcement pics but our little helper just wanted to play.

I promise that I will get some baby announcements out before this child turns 1!

MV's sleeping

Today we've had a milestone. She has finally taken a full nap in her bed. I don't see how any child after the first child, gets any rest during the day. Little G is always waking her up-sometimes intentionally and other times accidentally. So I'm always fighting to keep her asleep during her nap times. If we are in the car we are fine. She can sleep through anything in the car seat. BUT today, we've completed a full nap in her own bed. YEAH!!!! I'm actually about to go and wake her myself. Thankfully she is sleeping well at night so I really shouldn't complain. She wakes up once between 10 and 7 to eat. She would sleep late if I let her, but then that would throw our entire day so she starts the day at 7:00 am to keep us on track. Brother, on the other hand, has been waking me at 5:45 every morning this week. Today he slept late so maybe it was because he was sick and wasn't getting good rest.

Week 8 and the Lake

We have had fun watching Sissy change from her newborn stage into a little baby girl. She is starting to really smile at us a lot, but still can't catch it on camera. The camera itself is too amusing for her so she just stares at the big black object that's in her face.
This week has been hard for all of us as Graham has had another cold. He hasn't been sleeping and he didn't get to go to Mother's Day Out on Tuesday so we were a bit worn out by Thursday.
We are trying to teach a toddler what gentle and sweet mean when around Sissy. I've resorted to just saying "no toys" around the baby because he inevitably hits her on the head with them and then we have ourselves another fiasco. Since she doesn't care for a pacifier, the only way to calm her down right now is with mylecon drops. Thankfully it works but I may be creating a bad habit. Well, for now, whatever works is my motto.

Our friends, the McFadden's, invited us to the lake last weekend. We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed the much needed fellowship away from the house. It was the beginning of Graham's cold so you can see that he is not at all impressed with the boat or the tube. We'll try again another day.

"Mommy, Mommy, Mommy is all we heard. He wanted back on the boat with me and then he yelled Daddy, Daddy. He wanted Michael to join us. I convinced him that Daddy was going to have fun and he would be okay.

Week 7

This week we had a little helper with our weekly picture. Graham was determined to be in the picture and of course, wanted nothing to do with clothes this morning.

Trying to get another smile on the camera but I've been unable to snap it before it's gone.

Last Friday we meet Daddy at Centennial Park to see the big Choo Choo. Graham LOVED it. He just waved at it and the airplane they had on display. We then walked around the little pond to look at the Geese. Another little boy was chasing the pigeons away so you can bet Graham had fun watching him and then chasing them himself.

Memorial Day Weekend

We headed off for our first road trip as a family of four. It took us 9 hours to get to Ft. Walton Beach. Stopping for and hour every two hours makes for a long trip. We survived without any major melt-downs surprisingly. Graham fell asleep around 9:00pm and we were home by midnight. Mary Virginia slept the entire trip so we had to wake her to make her eat.
Graham LOVES the beach. It rained on Saturday so we weren't about to let the clouds keep us inside on Sunday.

Our little belly is still with us.

PawPaw and I were the only ones on the beach this morning. No one wanted to risk sand in the camera after this so we don't have any other pics from the beach later in the afternoon.

He loves playing with sand but isn't so sure about it sticking to him.

I had to put Mary Virginia in a swimsuit since we were in Florida. i sure hope she loves the water like Graham and I do. We are working on Daddy-he's more of a snow and water skier.

This was a big first for Graham. Michael taught him how to peddle his tricycle. We are still working on steering while peddling. That's a lot for a little boy who isn't even two yet.

GiGi's visit

GiGi came to see us for a week. It proved to be very hectic as we were able to get Graham into see an ENT for his ears and then into surgery the next morning. He did remarkably well during and after the surgery.

This is a picture from that afternoon. We went to get our shoe lover some new kicks just like Daddy's. He even wore them to bed that night. We bought him a new sand and water table for our back deck. I'm hoping this will help with his idle time while I'm tending to Mary Virginia. Graham gets mighty bored while she is eating.

We have had an unusually cold May. I can't believe we are wearing sweatshirts during what I call the summer.

We have a smile.

That's right, little miss Mary Virginia started smiling this week. It's so fun to be getting a reaction from her. Graham is in MS for the week getting some much needed attention from his grandparents. We are looking forward to our week at home with Sissy so we can get to know our little girl a little better while brother is getting to do some fun "big boy" things.

Playdates

Mac and Graham found some pirates today.

Today was Graham's last day in Ms. Lynn and Ms. Laura's class. We are going to miss them so much but thankfully that will just be in the classroom next door to Graham's new room.

Mrs. Stephanie and Caroline came over to see Mary Virginia.

Look at these cute boys with the scraped up legs. William and Graham had fun playing together this morning. We can't wait for William's baby brother to get here so we can teach him how to play too!

Graham has also learned what youtube.com is all about. We usually watch the tractors working or trains but Little Einstein's grabbed his attention this morning.

Graham loves shoes. Look for a later post to see some of his new summer kicks. They may resemble Daddy's shoes in this pic.

Week 2

Big Bubba loves his little Sissy. He was helping me take pictures this morning.
So much for keeping a toddlers germs away from a newborn! It was worth the kodak moment. (and thankfully no one got sick from the exchange)
