Talledega here we come.

Lightening McQueen has had a huge influence on Graham over the last two years. Michael and his brother Patrick decided it would be fun to take Graham and Kirkland to a race so Talledega was their first choice.
This may be the first time I've seen Graham in denim.

Checking out the finish line.

Before the race, the boys got to step out on the track and somehow managed to get in the infield and on pit row. They did have a prerace pass but not a pit row pass. Somehow they still managed to get up close with the drivers and pit crews.

I wish I could tell you who these guys are but not sure.

Standing in front of the pit row wall. Not a bad first trip to a nascar race.

The cars are lining up.

I think this guy may have ended up winning that day. Again, not sure of his name.

Wow, a real "Mack" truck and race car hauler.

Mary Virginia's 2nd Birthday

Happy Birthday sweet girl!

This little girl loves cupcakes. If she hears you even mention the word birthday, she will break out in to the birthday song and ask about cupcakes.

Matthew and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth

Lucy and Michael Conelly

William and Anna Reid

Mrs. Courtney, Mae Mae and James

Fun Facts:

  • Mary Virginia is the pickiest eater I've ever met. She truly does not eat food. Only a couple of soft serve versions of food. For example, she will only eat reduced fat, cream Jif peanut butter in the big jar with a spoon. Don't try any other brand, or even the regular Jif because she will have none of it.

  • The only other two foods she will eat are yoplait reduced fat key lime yogurt and raisins occasionally.

  • I must confess she will eat any cookie or cake product put in front of her-much like her Mommy. But candy she's not interested in much.

  • Thankfully she loves milk and v8 fusion juice so she is getting a few vitamins and minerals there. She refuses her princess vitamins so we've moved into boosts and other similar protein drinks for her daily nutrition. It's a wonder she is growing.

  • She continues to thrive on the growth charts despite her eating habits. She remains in the 97% for height and weight.

  • Mary Virginia loves to ride in Daddy's truck and listen to "go down the highway" which is the Rascal Flatts version of Life is a Highway.

  • She has an enormous vocabulary for her age and she cracks us up with her humor even for this age.

  • She loves playing with Bubba's trains and race cars but she is slowly getting into pretend play with her baby dolls.

Hiking in Percy Warner Park

Michael took Graham on his first official hike in April, 2011. Graham wore his camelbak full of water and loved it.

We hope Graham will continue to enjoy the great outdoors.

In typical fashion, G takes a break to throw some rocks.

Hollywood Studios

Graham and Mary Virginia didn't know what to think about Wizard Mickey. No one cried though and we got an autograph.
Look closely at their faces, still a little unsure about this meeting.

We were cooling off under the shade while watching the big water fountain.

This sweet picture pretty much sums up our whole trip!

This picture may be out of order because I think it was our first day and we were heading to the Magic Kingdom on the monorail. Only problem was that we took the wrong one and ended up at Epcot and by the time we got to the MK, we had missed the opening show at the gates. And even if we had made it there the park opened an hour early and we had a flat tire on our rental. So we would have never made it anyway.
A little shy at the introductions but they both still enjoyed meeting all of the characters.
There are some smiles.

Almost got her to look

Now this was the moment we had waited for... meeting Lightening McQueen and Mater. Graham was shy again but he thought they were pretty cool.

Animal Kingdom

Graham held on to the sweet little Minnie Mouse Tinkerbell brought Sissy.
Taking a turn with G's favorite hat.

Safari Mickey

Mary Virginia got a good nap in the stroller while we all cooled off in the shade and waited to see the exotic bird show.

Catching a little air conditioning as we watched the Finding Nemo musical.

One hot ride. We enjoyed a mickey shaped ice cream sandwich after this ride.

We took a fun little train ride over to the petting zoo.

Graham even braved touching a live snake.

Enjoying our safari and checking out all of the wild animals.

We finished our day at Animal Kingdom with a fun parade. These kiddos were real troopers and we had no meltdowns. What a fun day!
